Are you troubled by an emotion of yours? Take a few minutes to just look at it. Notice it’s size or energy or color. Recognize you are looking at an emotion which means you are not the emotion. Instead of diving into the emotion or trying to figure it out, let it be there. Do not resist it. Create some distance between you and the emotion until it stops bothering you.
Aches, pains and unwanted body sensations can make you avoid the present. If you mentally examine just one problem, and decide it’s ok for that problem to exist, while being a little kinder to your body, you find that living with your body in the present becomes more enjoyable.
